Any search for the 10 most romantic destinations has always included the Hawaiian Islands. Each island has its own unique flavour and pace, making Hawaii a destination that appeals to a variety of personalities. The islands are Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, Lanai, Maui, and the big island. If you’re more laid back, and don’t want big city life, visit Kauai. This island has great surfing, the people are laid back and really go by “island time” instead of watching the clock. You’ll find a similar pace on Molokai, a respite from traffic and congestion. One activity on Molokai is to take a guided mule ride along the steep cliffs overlooking the endless ocean at Kalaupapa National Historical Park.
On Lanai, stay at one of the luxurious Four Seasons resorts. Lanai also offers two excellent golf courses. On Oahu, you’ll experience a little of everything: surfing, beaches, shopping, dining, and lots of people. The island of Maui offers the stunning Haleakala National Park, where visitors make a point of getting up early to witness the Haleakala Sunrise at the visitor center, an elevation of 9,740 feet. The park offers wonderful hiking and horseback riding. In Upcountry Maui, you’ll be able to visit the colorful botanical gardens and take a farm tour. Finally, there is the big island. This is where you will find Volcanoes National Park and the active volcano Kilauea.
